Analyst Gas & Power

 

Accountabilities: 

  • The Supply & Portfolio Analyst will support the S&P Manager in the optimization and management of the consolidated commodity positions of all the customers across the country that team operates in;
  • Tracking the exposures on a daily basis, that will be the basis for the hedging strategies that the S&P Manager will put in place together with the Traders;
  • Providing inputs to structure the best and most competitive supply solution to enable the local B2B/C&I organization to grow the customers portfolio and to maximize the value for the Shell Group;
  • Interfacing with the Italy S&P Manager as well as local Sales Team, Operations and Finance department;
  • Working with Portfolio Management team across Europe to ensure best cross-country collaboration;
  • Administering Deal Entry, Entry Adjustments and Exposure Update;
  • Monitoring the broader value of the customer, including extrinsic, cross-commodity, cross-service, and lifetime cycle;
  • Supporting the Italy S&P with market intelligence and analysis that can lead to hedging strategies to protect the profitability of the portfolio ;
  • Following Market regulation and providing support in analysing the impacts on the portfolio
  • Providing input in shaping and support IT and process capability build for managing exposures and to digitally automate the transactions between Markets and Trading and between Markets and Customers.

 

Skills and Requirement: 

  • A Good knowledge of European Energy markets, with particular focus on the Italian markets gas and power;
  • Good knowledge of physical trading and settlement;
  • Good understanding of risks and exposures;
  • Strong analytical skills and relationship skills, along with an entrepreneurial mindset;
  • Good attitude at problem solving with innovative solutions and independency in organizing the tasks;
  • Beneficial strong technology and coding skills coupled with knowledge of data science (eg Python, SQL);
  • Beneficial quantitative background, ideally Bsc/Msc in Math’s, Engineering or Science based degree;
  • Fluency in the English and Italian language.
