Lead Process Engineer for Critical CO2 Application (Allam Cycle Application)
The candidate will be requested to support the development, optimization, and execution of process solutions based on Allam Cycle integrated with cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU). The Allam Cycle integrated with ASU is a novel oxy-fuel power cycle that utilizes natural gas and oxygen in a semi-closed, high-pressure loop that uses supercritical CO2 as working fluid to produce power in a turboexpander.
As a Lead Process Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing simulations of process plants, with the use of specific software i. e. Aspen Plus, Hysys, Unisim;
- Performing equipment sizing on the basis of the process data, performing pressure drops and hydraulic calculations.
- Developing PFDs and detailed P&IDs up to ‘as built’ level and fluid list;
- Taking part in technical meetings with Customers (i.e. P&IDs review, etc.);
- Having knowledge of HSE and Safety rules, including basic competencies in fire protection. Participating and contributing to design reviews and safety reviews (Hazid, Hazop, FERA, FMEA, etc.) from conceptual to detailed design;
- Checking, commenting, and managing in VDR Vendors’ documentation and participating to sub-supplier technical alignment;
- Participating to the full process design starting from early project stages supporting feasibility, pre-FEED, FEED and EPC activities for oxy-fuel technology solutions and other technologies ranging from gas treatment and liquefaction plants (LNG) to carbon capture plant.
Requirements:
- Have a Master’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering;
- Have proven experience in process engineering, in-depth experience in Allam Cycle process solutions and ASU will be preferential;
- Have Aspen Plus in-depth expertise and capability to tune the simulation model with Recuperative Heat Exchanger and Air Separation Unit will be considered preferential;
- Have knowledge of International Codes like API, ANSI, ASME;
- Have problem solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work in large and global teams;
- Have excellent written and verbal communications skills. Fluency in English is essential.
Locations: Italy (preferred), Norway, Poland, Germany.
